The on progress physical keyboard in a real simulation

System Overview This project establishes a high-fidelity connection between physical hardware and FlightGear or FSX and above using an ESP32 microcontroller. Designed to bridge the gap between simulation software and real-world controls, the interface offers a modular, customizable architecture for professional-grade immersion.

Hardware Configuration The current iteration provides native support for the following hardware suite:

  1. 7x Programmable Switches: Fully configurable for critical system toggles (magnetos, lights, gear).
  2. 2x iPad Instrument Panels: Utilizing secondary screens for high-resolution glass cockpit displays.
  3. 2x LED Matrices: Dedicated to radio stack readouts and navigational data.

Key Features

  1. Customizable Input Mapping: Tailor every switch, encoder, and matrix display to your specific aircraft profile.
  2. ESP32 Integration: Robust, low-latency processing via local WiFi for seamless data exchange.
  3. Modular Architecture: Designed for extensibility, allowing for easy component upgrades or additions as your cockpit evolves.
